Soft Edges Bracelet
by Rebecca J on 06/10/11
About this design:
My favorite thing about making jewelry is taking unusual, rough or earthy pieces and softening them with elegant elements. I just love the handmade chain because of it's organic, textured, cool shapes. I like to layer it with pearls and crystals to give it a brighter, lighter feel.
Buy the supplies:
The products in this design are listed below.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Choose a variety of Czech glass fire polished and pressed beads as well as some pearls and crystal rondelles. You will also need two cones, a clasp, two 6mm jump rings, two eye pins and two crimp tubes. |
Step 2: Cut two lengths of Beadalon .015" 49 strand wire to about 8 inches. Cut two handmade chain lengths to 6 inches each. Attach one jump ring to each eye pin, set one combination aside. Attach both of the pre-cut chain lengths to the working jump ring. Crimp one length of Beadalon the jump ring between the chains and string a random variety of the bead mix you have chosen. When you have about six inches strung, crimp the other end to the other jump ring. Repeat this step with the other Beadalon strand, placing it so the chain and beaded strands alternate. |
Step 3: Pull the eye needles through the cones, and while holding them tight while using your needle nose pliers to bend them to a 90 degree angle. |
Step 4: Finish the bracelet by attaching the completed design to the clasp with wrapped loops on both sides. |

nutz4beadz says:I received my first two orders from you today.
I am impressed and delighted with the beads and your service. Czech beads are the best and your selection is fabulous.
In addition, I placed two orders on the same day and wasn’t charged additional postage for the second order and they were shipped together. I am grateful for the consideration.
Fast delivery, fab packaging, user friendly site, money off coupon on next purchase, wow, all made it a wonderful first time experience.

C Hartley says:Love the bracelet. The instructions need some work. This could be a beginner bracelet but the current instructions require intermediate knowledge. Could you edit? This would make a beginner feel like a real beader if the instructions were more complete. Thanks!

Prazsong says:I love this! So “earthy” and textured, yet, as you say, “soft”. It’s a great bracelet for a stashbuster, too! I don’t have (or make!) handmade chain, but I have some other rustic pcs. of chain that will work well.
Thank you! This is a great bracelet!

I have come across your Soft edges Bracelet that has a date of June 2011 and you have shared directions to make. I cannot see well enough to make this. Can I purchase the bracelet? Do you have a site that I can view your jewelry?

Comfort food for the soul. Beautiful designed and crafted, Rebecca J. I would also love to know if you have a website that showcases your jewelry for sale.

J Carboni says:Think I’m going to have to make a bracelet like this, it’s so nice. I’m a little confused bout the instructions that say “ attach the jump ring to the eye pin” .Does that part stay inside the cone? Think I’m better with pictures versus written directions, LOL. Thanx- Jill
