My First Wire-Wrapping

About this design:

This was a custom order for a high school graduate in May. From what I gather, these buttons are a family heirloom. The shank had broken off the button, and I didn't want to drill through it for fear of breaking it. So, I found a couple of tutorials on wire-wrapping and jumped in. I made it without frills per request (also didn't want to detract from the intricate carving). To add just a bit of visual interest, I wrapped the wire tails around the bail a few times to resemble a knot. I hung it on a necklace of brown suede lacing.
