Pearls with Ivory & Crystal

About this design:

A friend recently told me that she really doesn't like pearls (gasp), but it turns out that she thinks of pearls as something that Jackie, Barbara or brides, debutantes and grandmas would wear. So I decided to make a necklace that would certainly work for most of the above, but would different enough for the rest of us. The first photo is on an antiuque lace tablecloth. The second photo is on an ivory satin dress with peach embroidery and the third photo is taken on an ivory linen dress trimmed in Battenberg lace.

Ivory bone diamond beads, tiny FWP chips in white, ivory, pink and peacock, tiny peach Chinese crystals.

This is beautiful. I love the ivory diamond beads, and the fact that you used multiple colors in the strand, I think will change your friend’s mind about pearls.

I’m a sucker for pearls in any shape and color, and this necklace is a beautiful ‘new Classic’. You’ll have to let us know if this one changed your friend’s mind about pearls! :D

I must admit that I used to think about pearls as your friend does… then I discovered how many ways they can be used, plus the great colors/shapes, etc. These are NOT June Cleaver’s pearls! Now I use them all the time… just not a strand of lonely round white ones!
