Multiple Strand Necklace

About this design:

I wanted to create a piece with the beautiful ribbon from this site. I played with a couple options and thought that this highlighted both the beads and the ribbons. The beads were random extras to give a relaxed appearance. The mix and match bead approach gives it a unique appearance in which something new can be noted anytime you look at it. I had difficulty getting a good picture, I hope that these give you an idea for what it looks like and some of the details in the beads.

ribbon (LB), assorted Czech glass beads (LB), assorted crystal beads (LB), metal beads, assorted pearls (glass, shell (LB) and freshwater (LB)), Olive Fire Agate (LB), Blue Pearl (LB), Tourmaline (LB), shell mosaic (onyx) (LB), toggle clasp

The beads may be random, but they go so well together. Lovely piece.

Well done! I have never been happy with the necklace I tried making similar to this. I guess I just didn’t work with it long enough (and only used one silk strand). Thanks for the inspiration! Your’s is fabo!!

Thanks everyone! I like to mix and match with colors since I find I never quite ‘know’ what will work and often the combos I never would have thought of works the best! ;)

Gembeans, you’re welcome, I’m sure your necklace will be beautiful! Just a quick tip that I find helps to add to the silk ribbons, I twisted them a few time before putting the ends on…I tried without and it didn’t have enough movement or flow to me. Also, I found that multiple beaded and ribbon strands added more depth of color and texture, in my opinion. Good luck!
