About this design:

I've been fiddling around with this necklace for about a week. It has been through several revisions and I'm still not sure which, if any, I like. The variations are very small dealing primarily with the placement of the pearl drops. Suggestions? Or is it into the closet for a week or two?

14ga copper wire, freshwater pearl drops, seed beads, copper chain

I love them all, but I’m going to go against the majority since I like the second one the best, though the first one is a close second. ;)

I think I like the third one the best. Having all of the drops on one side strikes a better balance with the curls on the other side.

The photos aren’t identical? Hmmmm Must be my monitor….. ROTFLOL!!! ;)

Wow, this is tough. All 3 look amazing to me. Nancy, you were smart to take a photo of each design for comparison! 8)

I vote for 1, then 3, then 2. That sad, lone pearl on the “curly” side in #2 looks out of place to me. You could always make 1 of each and see what the buying public has to say. :D

I do like this a lot. I wonder if you dangled a few pearls in the circles on the left, LRC ??? ~ to kind of bring out the colour of the other stones and enhance the great wire work??? It is VERY nice though !

  11. CAS
    CAS says:

I like #1 best by far, then #3. #2 just doesn’t seem to have the right balance somehow. Of course your wire work is amazing as always.

Well, they’re all pretty, but I like #3 the best. It just feels right to see the dangles on one side, and the big loops on the other. Beautiful work..the teardrop shaped pearls are amazing!

Love this necklace, Nancy. You’re wire work is amazing. My eye is drawn to the first photo, it seems more balanced in design. The pearls are so unique and make for an elegant look.

Lovely necklace. I prefer #1 for balance. Have you tried it on all three ways to see how it feels when you wear it? You could also switch out the three drops from #3 and dangle small copper swirls there. Oh so many possibilities!

I love the open swirls on the one side , and the pearls on the other, I vote on #3..

Thanks for the comments and opinions Everyone. I really appreciate your input. I still have two more drops I might add to the design and see how it looks. Or I might just put it in the closet for a week or so then have another look. Indecision is the key to flexibility…. Don’t make up your mind until you have to. :D

Yes, Veronica is Olive Penguin. :) It’s a long story how a chose my beading alias. haha

    Mary - Sweet Chick says:

Oh, hey Nancy, what if you came up with a way to remove the dangles? That way the necklace could be interchangable to what you liked best at the moment…..and then everyone would be happy! Probably a lot of work to create though……just a thought. :-)

(Only a week? I can spend months changing one piece around and still not decide!) I immediately loved your first one before seeing the others, and then #3 caught my attention as if it were a better photo. After reading the comments, I went back and looked again to see the difference. I was drawn to #3 because it was more daring. I like things that are a little quirky. The 1st one is also very lovely, and perhaps a little dressier. So basically I like them both very much and equally. #3 is more what I would choose to wear, since I don’t dress up much. It would go well in the office or with T-shirt and jeans. Make one of each! Or even make one with a different color drop.

I like #3, but I know a lot of people who couldn’t process a design with that much “asym”. My vote is to get more of those pearl drops and make one of each. I would most definitely wear this!

  28. Batticat
    Batticat says:

Once I start, I can’t shut up! lol . I like Mary S.’s idea, too. You could even make it so you could change around colors. But I guess it would be more work. I do love the the wirework and copper chain. Just one large pendant would be beautiful on it, too.

  29. Little Round Chick
    Little Round Chick says:

Thanks again Everyone. You have given me plenty of food for thought.

I’d love to have more of the pearls to work with but unfortunately I bought them 3 or 4 years ago and the shop has gone out of business.

I’ve added one more picture that shows how it looks on a “neck.”

    K H says:

Oh yeah, that’s the one! It’s perfect, so don’t mess with perfection :)

You may not be able to find those exact pearls, but maybe coin pearls or cornflake pearls. This design is just too special to not have a sister. :)

  31. Bettys Beads
    Bettys Beads says:

Nancy, whatever you do…don’t put it/them in the closet. If it doesn’t sell at your next event..then change it.

Just a little note LRC. Last night-saw the necklaces”love the pearls and wirework”, voted (1, 3, and then 2), thought I submitted my comment(just after Elaine’s question on Veronica). But now my comment has disappeared! Sorry its just curious to me-But somebody may have a weird comment on their jewelry that just doesn’t make sense. This ever happen to anybody?

    puppychick labratbecky says:

I like the last one. Is that also the photo around the neck? I like how you balance the swirls on the one side with the pearls on the other.

  35. Michelle
    Michelle says:

    Hi !
..I meant to say if you had any coin pearls in a similar shade, or even golden, they would look great in the circles of wire !

    KWB DESIGNS says:

I personally like the one with the 2 pearls on the left side; gives it balance, all the while complimenting the assymetrical value of the necklace.

  37. ScarletBegonias
    ScarletBegonias says:

    absolutely beautiful! All 3!!!!

But if I were shopping and I chose between them, I’d get #3.
