Bird Watching

About this design:

After playing with lucite, I got back to some metal. Stamped a design on a sheet of copper, then cut some shapes free-hand. Use paint dabbers and alcohol inks for a little color, and created an artistic wire spiral. They are close to 2.5 inches long.

Thank you all. I was trying to get the “birds in a tree” look, where you can’t quite see them fully. These are the first ones that I tried, I have others in “draft”. I think I have the confidence to keep going! ;)

Wonderful earrings! The birdies are so spring like. These remind me of a japanese silk painting my Mom has in her dining room.

Love these…love the earthy feel. I haven’t worked with sheet metal yet, how do you treat the edges so that they aren’t sharp?

Val – I just use a 4-way nail buffer, actually! It has really fine grit to smooth out the edges, and even buff the metal to a shine! Crazy, huh?

Love these earrings! I purchased the Vintaj metal buffer thing, and was a wee bit annoyed when it came and I saw it was a four way nail buffer. I already had quite a few sitting around the house!
