I’m with you and Leigh when it comes to memory wire and it comes in so many sizes. It is great for people who have trouble manipulating clasps and toggles.

your bracelets are really beautiful. I have a question. when using beads as you did, how did the bracelet coils not come out to big ( if I explained it right) I tryed memory wire once for a bracelet, but wasn’t happy with it.

    Thanks very much.

If you mean “too big” by the wire stretching and becoming wobbly, you have to watch the weight and width of the beads.

For instance, all of the bracelets here are made with small chips and complimentary beads that are not too large and are small enough to go around the wire without stretching it any.

For the chunky ones, you need more coils (I usually use 4 for the chip bracelets and about 6 for the nugget bracelets), and you need to make sure that, though the beads may be heavier, they are not a lot LONGER, meaning they will stretch the wire as they go along the coils to get to the end. At the beginning and the end of each bracelet, make sure you have a few inches of smaller stuff so the wire will grip the wrist and not get all wobbly and loose.

One other thing, the memory wire comes in two bracelet sizes. Definitely use the smaller wire for nuggets…the larger wire, after putting heavy nuggets on, stretches to calf size, LOL. And be careful of you are using small chips to at least put one or two beads on that stretch the wire only slightly, otherwise the bracelets are too tight for most people’s wrists.
