Big Ball You are Beautiful!

About this design:

I was going for the look of a exotic plant with an antique touch to the design. First thing I did was changing the shape of the ball then I painted it with acrylic and sealed the paint with glossy claudine hellmuth studio multimedium. At the same time wanted to add some "coolness" to it, which I think the hand made chain did ;)

Bronzite, Lemon Quartz, Freshwater Pearls, Shell Pearls, Seed Beads, Vintaj Filigree Bead Caps, Vintaj Chain, Vintaj Jumprings, Vintaj Lobster Clasp, Handmade Antique Brass Chain, Waxed Irish Linen 7 ply, Silk Ribbon, Artistic Wire, paint, and course BIG BALL! ( and some cat hair )

It is definitely unique and a conversational piece!

I would frame it instead of wearing it as it is a piece of application art! :) ))

I am serious , Frida! You may attach it to the canvas with some nature background and put it in the shadow frame. It would be absolutely awesome!

OMG GORGEOUS! I’m just floored with the design. I think you sent me psychic vibes though because I was seriously thinking of doing this to a filigree heart pendant this morning and was wondering how it would look. As Julia said a work of art.

  13. Frida

Thank you so much my friends :D

Julia that aint a bad idea! However, I think I gonna try to sell it, if it’s possible.

  14. Frida
    Frida says:

    Deb go for it ;)

Julie I think you will come up with a perfect dangle. And if it’s very close to mine I have no problems with that because I know it will be unique because you made it :)

  15. Julie Shane
    Julie Shane says:

Yes Frida. Someone will grab this quickly at a show. There is SO much detail. That terrible big ball is so calm and peaceful … and beautiful…

Stunning design, Frida! As soon as I saw the big ball, before even reading your desciption, I was thinking it looked like the bud of a flower opening. Love the mix of colors of pearls. :)

WOW, Frida!…ditto above; inspired & inspiring!…as i don’t have BB i was going to ask if it separated into segments..ask no more, the designs tell all…i think your exotic flower (apart from looking like a seed pod) may be the Fritillaria!..absolutely gorgeous!

  34. Kate
    Kate says:

I may be showing my age, but this plant piece reminds me of Nintendo Super Mario games…
Primordial, in an elegant way…is that possible??

  35. Deb Harding
    Deb Harding says:

OH that is funny Kate but it does.look like that.

  36. Frida
    Frida says:

Hahaha Kate I was thinking the same ;) Another thins that struk me is that it look Sci-Fi and a lil surreal!

To be right on: How old are u Kate? Apologizing for my bad manner to ask but I become curious ;)

  37. Frida
    Frida says:

Do I have to change it now? 8O

  38. Deb Harding
    Deb Harding says:

I wouldn’t change it at all….but you might not want to sleep in the same room with it….remember bodysnatchers??

  39. Frida
    Frida says:

Hahaha lol Deb :D I have put it in a box, hope it not breaks free!

I had no games like these when I was litlle so I don’t remember so much of these games and the bodysnatcher, hmmm might if I see them.

  40. Deb Harding
    Deb Harding says:

That is a science fiction book.from 1955. Then a movie called INVASION OF THE BODYSNATCHERS in 1956 and an excellent remake starring Donald Sutherland in 1978. Plants with pods hook up to people and replicate them to take over their lives

  41. Frida
    Frida says:

Ohhh now it sounds familiar! Must check that out.

I’m so tiered so if I seems to be confused you know why.

  42. Deb Harding
    Deb Harding says:

Me too.Frida. My dogs have disrupted my.sleep the past two nights.

  43. Lynn g
    Lynn g says:

Very neat love all the components used here.

  44. Julie Shane
    Julie Shane says:

Frida, I came back AGAIN to take another look. I’m still spell-bound! There are so many little vignettes within your piece that I keep looking at each photo over and over.

I’m working on my pieces tonight and wanted to make sure mine did not copy yours. My ball is open like yours and has a few dangles, but I have different stuff going on above it.

  45. Julie Shane
    Julie Shane says:

    BTW: Too old for Nintendo…
    Too scared for body-snatchers.
However this shape of the BB does remind me of “Audrey 2″ from that crazy play & movie “Little Shop of Horrors.” Oh no! Maybe that’s why my BB has been so difficult!!! ;)

  46. Frida
    Frida says:

    Thank you :D

Julie your designs are fab :D
I think it’s so funny Becky did that Audrey. I have never seen (I think) that movie or might have and unconsciously made something like Audrey. I have a visual memory so must check that movie out.
