waxing moon

About this design:

Hubby wanted me to make some gifts for him to give out at work so here is one of the pair of earrings I made. Simple silver open hoops, textured and rubbed with turquoise guilder's paste, with a pale teal blue quartz to dangle in the center. Is this a gift you would want to recieve?

Silver wire, Blue Quartz

Thanks so much for your kind comments! I imagine many of us carry a little bit of insecurity over our ‘home made’ goods, and hope they are good enough. Now I feel better about sending them in :-)

I love the contrast of the ‘weathered’ metal and the smooth translucent stone. Also like howbthe hoop loks a bit snakey. I would proudly wear these!

I actually got the ends to elongate ( look snakey) by using a torch to fire a complete silver circle( that was unfused), and as the silver melts it draws back… leaving the gap and the ends in more a tear drop shape. I am all about playing with fire…
