Sun Disc

About this design:

I got the brass beads in this necklace some time ago from LB.

The turquoise colored beads are such a great sky color they complement the color of the brass sun disc. I had an interesting time stringing the round brass beads. The holes were too large for me to use any of my brass spacers. They disappeared inside the beads so I solved the problem by using brass jump rings as spacers. Due to the rough edges on some of the brass beads I decided to string the necklace on beading chain so I wouldn't have to worry about accidentally cutting through beading wire.

A great looking necklace! That’s a great point on what to bead them on. Nicely done! :)

Love it, I had the same problem with the brass beads, so I used a leather cord, but I like your idea of the beading chain even more, love the colors too :D

When in doubt try a jump ring or two.

Thanks for the comments and compliments Everyone. I agree that this combo looks great but turquoise colored beads always look great with any metal.

Stunning. Everything’s just right–don’t need more; don’t need less. Love the idea of using the jump rings for spacers, too.

Gorgeous necklace!! I had to find large waxed cotton string for the big-holed agates in my BB design. The other trick I used was to double wrap the wire on either side of the bead to keep it from disappearing inside. I think the jump ring idea is superb!

Thanks again for all of the comments and compliments.

You know the old saying: Necessity is the mother of invention…they must have been working with hand made rustic beads at the time. :D
