Copper Success

About this design:

Okay, so I tried 20 gauge copper wire in the torch and Success! Took a tad bit longer than the sterling, but the really cool thing is the balls stayed a great red color I love. If they were put in the pickled the copper would have returned to it's bright shiny origins.

Hooray, you did it, the color sometimes stays on them even after pickle if you are fast, I don’t use commercial pickle, just vinegar and salt :)

Thanks, everyone! I have to say that once you get this technique, it’s addictive to watch the wire heat up, glow orange red, and ball up.
And thanks, Asia, for you comments about a homemade pickle solution. I’ll have to give it a try.
