Waxing Poetic Turquoise

About this design:

Silly name yes.....its because the wood beads are the waxed wood. I plan on wearing it with the other turquoise bracelet. I'm still on the fence about stretchy.

Glass Turquoise Bead. Carved Wood Beads. Waxed Wood Beads.

Oh. yeah! Those go great together!! I know how you feel about elastic. Very convenient, but is it “cheating”? :) I know how hard it is to get some bracelets fastened and elastic solves that, but it won’t last as long because the stretch will eventually die. If you can redo and fix them, no big deal, but if you sell them, do you guarantee your work?? :) I’m so confused. :)

All those things are issues I it kind of limits the design. But its no different than stringing in that respect because there is limited space on a bracelet.
I would think if you could use a double cord it would help with the durability. Might have to see.
Fastening bracelets can be a pain. I’ve learned a brace it against my chest technique that helps. If you make them long enough that they easily fasten then they are too big.

I think if you are.going to do stretch bracelets to sell you should use very good beads, stones, pearls. Something of quality because most people say I can buy a stretchy bracelet anywhere. I did see a technique where most of the bracelet is on beading wire, crimped, and put on 2 decorative jump rings and then a small section was added between those 2 rings that was stretchy. This section was the focal part and had different beads. It was very pretty. I’m going to try one.later. Will post if it works.

I can’t wait to see your other technique! I have tried the double strand elastic but then you either need thin enough strands or big enough holes. :(

    Great colors and textures!

How about using leather cord with crimp hooks at the ends? If you want expansion, you could use those extra jump rings or a bit of chain.

Love this one too, I do like Laud’s idea, anything that gives you some room with the size will work :D
