Hearts on Fire In Wire

About this design:

I finally go to the point where I am hand forming the frame into a heart shape, and 'sewing' beads to it with wire! These two turned out good enough to share.

Artistic Wire, various Czech crystals, glass pearls.

So, “DbnRose” how do you like these? Your “experiment” spured me on to do the heart chapter of the book!

I added a picture – finished the red heart with a cascade of dangles and put it on a silver chain.

Wow, this is beautiful work Cindy. I love how you finished it with the cascade of dangles. The graduation in sizes of crystals/beads looks so nice. May I ask, did you use 20, 18G, or?

These are so beautiful,I’ve been trying my hand at forming a heart, but it’s too big to put on a chain.Fantastic work as always!!

Cindy they are both beautiful but the one with the graduated red crystals is my favourite. I especially love the way you have showcased it on the chain. I think I am starting to get itchy fingers again looking at your great work.

Aw, shucks! You are all very nice to say that!

@Lois D – I use 18g for the frame, or 16 if I have it, but it is harder to work with when making the fancy swirls! :) So typically 18, wire wrap with either 24 or 26, and sometimes add swirls with 20.

The hardest part about the heart shape is working “off center” so that you end up with enough wire to make the bail after matching the left & right sides. But the pounding to work harden is fun!
