Leather, Silver and a Rainy Day

About this design:

After a whole week of wet, dark, dreary, rainy weather I needed something to cheer me up. I pulled out the leather cord and sari silk from my stash,a few silver plated beads and Bohemian Inspired Jewelry by Erin Seigel and tried to ignore what was outside. The results definitely cheered me up!

1.5mm metallic leather cord, sari silk, rose and clear quartz, fresh water pearls and silver plated findings.

These would definitely cheer me up, love them both! I have some of this sari silk so I must ask, how did you make the sari silk look so thick, multiple strands or knotting…both? Love this look!

What a nice, clean design. Both are winners. I have been working on jewelry also to cheer myself our of this rainy gloom.

It is 3 strands of sari silk. The silk is knotted on either side of the large hole beads in the centre and then at each small silver bead. Finished the ends by wrapping with 20g wire and adding an end cap.

I have that same book….its awesome isn’t it? You did an excellant job on the leather bracelets.
I am also loving your sari silk bracelet…even though I cant.seem to find that in the book. I did one also just beccause I discovered matching components. Slightly different from yours though.

Funny, Deb Harding, I borrowed the book from the library because of one of your posts saying how great it was ;-) I made the sari silk one using the leather bracelet technique…just capped the ends off slightly differently. Here is another view of it.
