Ebony & Ivory

About this design:

I put all your advice together and restrung with onyx rounds which give a lot more flexibility to the square beads and solve the problem. :D I also saved a sardonyx diamond for a choker! - Fabulous Sardonyx that I could not resist again! :D Might have to reconsider the shape match though. The square spacers seemed like a good visual match but they don't stay put on the neck which is annoying. Learning experience :D

It looks gorgeous! I understand about square on square though, I believe I did it once. Yah it’s a bummer.

Some necklaces aren’t easy to wear, but they’re worth the effort. This is lovely.

I once did a similar style but with a bracelet and used round onyx. The squares were black and white zebra. That was easy to sell for some reason. Oh yes a personal friend bought it. I love your stone. They are gorgeous.

Stones are gorgeous! I would have tried the squares, too. I see what you mean, though. How about some double concave spacers? That would hold the corners of the sardonyx. I know I have seen them in silver plate at Michaels.

I like the tiny squares with the diamond shaped sardonyx. Maybe a tiny seedbead between them to prevent the twisting…???

This looks like a very classic and timeless piece that will get a lot of mileage. Love the variation in shapes.
