Rustic Agate

About this design:

I really liked the Rustic Agate, but the beads were quite big, I decided to use it as a focal for a bracelet, paired it with 8 strands of Indonesian seed beads on rust colored waxed linen.

Rustic Agate, Indonesian seed beads, coconut button, handmade copper clasp and the waxed linen is from LB.

Me too. I’d like to be a fly on the wall when you and others are making your pieces. I have no clue about using string or whatever it is that you put the seed beads on. But I love the look. I’d like to do something like that. I have an off white pendant that nothing is coming to mind and I’d like to steal that concept of the multistrands on one side and a bulky chain on the other.

Great bracelet. Like FB above, I’d wear it in heartbeat as well.

Its fantastic. I always love your clasps. One day I will get to do metal working.

Okay here’s the thing…I’ve been messing with a rhodonite (w/ black matrix) stone in a kind of similiar design. Now I’m gonna feel weird if I post it.

Hi Asia! May I ask? What gauge wire did you use? I have some 18G, and a torch, so I’m ready!
Have been trying home made patina solutions, so will post this weekend!

  27. Asia
    Asia says:

I used 20 gauge for wire wrapping , only because that is the only one they sell at my local hardware store, for the clasp I think I used 16, but 18 will be good too , I also buy electrical wire 14,12,10 gauge by foot and then strip it, but it is a workout and it takes for ever to do it, good look, can’t wait to see the result :D

You must be a strong woman to strip that much wire!! I have the most fantastic mental picture of that now! :) I whine when I have to strip just enough to attach a new light fixture. :)
