Sari Dreams

About this design:

I have loved this turquoise sari silk since I first saw it but it was always sold out. As soon as it was restocked this time I nabbed it. I had a handmade lampwork bead I had bought from a local artisan that matched perfectly as the focal. Everything else just fell into place.

Turquoise sari silk, lampwork bead, silver plated chain and other assorted odds and sods from my stash.

I am so glad you posted this piece! I’ve been fiddling with the silk for the longest time, not knowing what to do with it. I really, really like it with chain and charms.

Too cool for school! I would love to watch you do these types of designs. Did you “invent” this
method? It’s just adorable, and so in Vogue.

Thanks for all the compliments! I got the general idea from a book called Bohemian Inspired Jewelry by Erin Seigel. I knotted 2 pieces of silk a few times, glued and attached some fold over ends and wove it through all the links on a 7.5″ chain. Attached the finished ends of the silk to the last links on the chain with a jump ring and added a clasp. Add whatever bits and pieces you want with wrapped loops and Voila! Here is another I did with the ruby silk.

I got it a few years ago at Michaels but any larger link chain would work. I am thinking the copper chain on sale on LB would be beautiful.

Right now, I am completely addicted to making chunky bracelets! I also make my own lampwork beads and buttons in my studio at home, and I love it!
