Square Waves

About this design:

More scary earring pics! So hard to get a good photo! Anyway, more ocean inspired earware.
The Czech glass is either Peruvian Opal or Beach Glass...either way, there's alot more yellow going on than meets the eye. Didn't realize it until last night's Art Walk...but it's all good!

Patina'd brass blanks, Czech glass, and brass earwires.

Very pretty. How do you apply the patina? drop a bit and let it roll around?

And buff the areas that you want highlighted?

    Thanks Wanda and Becky!

Art Walk….Let’s see…Gulfport is often considered to be an Artist Colony. There are many resident artists, and the Industrial Arts Center, plus lots of galleries along Beach Boulevarde.

Gulfport has a First Friday and 3rd Saturday Art Walk every month that features local artisans at an evening festival from 6-10PM. As of late, some of it is pretty trashy, so the city is attempting to revamp it all, with the 1st Friday being Fine Arts Friday…that is my goal for next month. And Geckofest….an Arts and Crafts festival to celebrate the end of summer..10A to 10P, with 30K expected attendess. I’d love to have some visitors for that one!(hint hint).

Anyway, the green in the Czech glass squares was really yellow under the halogen lights at the Art Walk last night. The booth looked beautiful in all that light, but I forgot to take a picture!

Hi Peggy! I use a paper plate to combine my patina colors. I like a pea sized drop of color to a nickle sized drop of patina glaze and extender. Then I use a wet brush to apply a base color, and dab the other colors to the blank. I tilt the blank in different directions to achieve the tie dye affect.
