Blue Shasta Daisy

About this design:

A take on Heather Power's Dahlia Pendant. An inexpensive version. Found this blue flower pendant & the blue beads last night at Wally World in that dollar tray. Actually found the chain also. The bead bail is a pandora "type" bead w/ a bead cap. I'm pretty sure the bird and the blue bead came from Wally World also.

A photo of spoiled rotten ButterBall.

Blue ceramic floral pendant. Blue pandora type bead. Blue glass flower. Various small blue beads. White seed beads. Silver bird charm. Silver bead cap. Silver metal chain & findings.

Wow Deb…great bargain on the focal! I love this–the colors are wonderful and the little bird and blue glass flower just add to the charm of the piece. I gotta go look at Wally World to see if ours has any focals like that! LOL

Cute necklace and cute kitty! :) I have to say I have found some pretty cool beads and focals at Wally World myself! Great job with the necklace, really love the colors and I really love the whimsy! (Cats are soooo easy to spoil, aren’t they? ;) )

I love it! Are you going through a blue(not sad, of course) phase? I need to go to Wally world to see what they have, but I usually end up buying too much!

WOW great focal for the price, bargain beader Deb! The whole design looks fantastic as always. Love the little birdie and the way you did the bail. Awesome!(I was saying awesome with a high pitch, and carrying the some out longer) Did you hear it?

I knew this was yours as soon as I saw it! You have such style! I wish the Wally Worlds I have come across had beautiful pendants like yours. Although, the other day I did buy the same aqua beads that you used in your last bracelet.

Hi Deb! What a great design. Love turquoise and it looks really good with gunmetal. You know if a bead or beads really speak to me I sometimes pay more than I would like for them. But when you find something you love and get it for a song well, that’s when you’re gonna hear the fat lady (that’s me) really sing. Here’s to beads that put a song in our hearts :)

I too knew it was Debs before I looked for the name. We don’t have a Wally World here. Just Walmart, and a couple of large craft places. I don’t do well shopping. I tire too quickly. So I get everything online.

But Deb, congratulations on a beautiful necklace with bargain components.

Thank you everyone for the compliments. Your opinions do mean so much to me.
I’m glad other people realize the bargains you can find at Wally World. There really are cute items on occasion, you just have to pick through them.

I am a newbie here…and I LOVE what I am seeing…ALL OF IT!!! But I have a general question and don’t see a board to post to…so here goes…if you make a necklace that is quite long, do you think a closure is necessary? I have made some that simply and easily just slip over the head. HELP!!!

  21. Deb Harding
    Deb Harding says:

HaHa Becky…cats definitely consider you staff. And Laud, don’t let that “innocent” face…that is pure mischief and spoiled rottenness in a fur suit.
As far as the focals Becky…sometimes I get lucky & visit the store right after a shipment. There were 4 of those blue pendants, a green one, & a bunch of cool beads I would have like to have gotten. But the bead caps.I like were.there so I bought those. The $1.00 tray is the best. The $2.00 tray usually has junk…weird.
@Moontalker…I have bought long necklaces with no clasp so yoi don’t have to have one. But if yoi want to doible it & wear it as a 2 strand you need one. Just depends.
    Thankd again everyone.

Deb, have been trying to msg you but something is “broke” and msgs can’t get thru. Could you msg me?

  25. Granny Nancy
    Granny Nancy says:

Arlene, I’ve made several very long necklaces and I always put a small clasp – a small lobster clasp so that if I want to make it a 3 or 4 strand, I might need a clasp to do it. But using a small clasp that blends with the rest of the necklace, makes it almost invisible.

    Granny Nancy says:

Ha… I never heard that term used before. Its cute. There’s a small “Wally World” only 10 minutes from my house. I’ll have to check it out for beads, etc. next time I go to stock up on pet food. Thanks.
