About this design:

Necessity is definitely the mother of invention or at least of trying new things ! Had the howlite pendant for a long time and hadn’t used it because there was a white streak on both sides (shown in the third photo) - - but after all, the pendant only cost $0.80 ! Last month I looked at it again and got inspired to hang some dangles in front of the pendant. Think it worked as great camouflage - - and at least I got that pendant out of my “New Projects” box ! Finished length is 18” with a 1-1/2 “ drop for the pendant.

From Lima Beads: Howlite Turquoise Carved Oval 35x25mm. From Other Sources: Turquoise frosted glass tubes 18x8mm, turquoise faceted glass rondelles 4x6mm, turquoise (synthetic) rounds 3mm, gold-plated rounds 4mm, gold-plated heishi 6x2mm, white rounds 10mm (rescued from a vintage necklace), gold-plated jump rings and trigger clasp.

Dangles to the rescue one more time! You can cover a multitude of problems with a cleverly placed dangle or two. Looks great! :)

Thanks for your comments – - normally I’m not so much into dangles, but they really work here I think.

I keep coming back to look at your necklace! I absolutely LOVE those ‘rescued’ 10mm white rounds. They provide a lovely contrast to the turquoise focal with those neat dangles. Likewise the way you used them in the earrings. Wow, I really like this set!

Yea for dangles…you know I love them. This is a great set.

Thanks again everyone – - and Lois, those white rounds are probably plastic, but they’re a higher grade of plastic than one sees today. Two different friends gave me costume jewelry that had belonged to their mothers and these white beads came from a 1960′s or 70′s necklace – - -

    Gail Layne says:

Love the white with the turquoise! I usually think of white as a “filler” color but it makes a statement here! The dangles work beautifully as well.
