About this design:

All the gorgeous autumn hued jewelry being posted lately on LB really put me in the mood to create this necklace today. Love the smooth shiny Ocean Jasper nuggets with the copper chain. Simple design, but I'm sure I'll be wearing this a lot this fall!

It looks like stones you have gathered on your walks. So matural. The leaf connector and the bird clasp are a great touch.

Thanks for your positive responses to this necklace! Appreciate the feedback.
    As to the questions:
    1. Yes, the beads are top drilled, at some very odd angles. I saw two choices: briolette wraps or stringing on beading wire.
    2. I used a Beadalon gold wire in a .018 thickness because of the weight of the stones.
    3. The up-down stone design is what I had in my head. Happily, when I pulled the beading wire to tighten up the last crimp tube, the stones did this on their own with a little encouragement from me. When worn, they do lay nicely this way too. I think it was all about getting the tension just right in the stringing.
