About this design:

Why "Sunf" instead of "Sunflower"? The Kylie Parry piece shows only part of a flower. I set it at shoulder blade level, but when I was photographing the necklace, I saw it could be worn different ways. What do you think?

KP sunflower pendant; Earthenwood Studios clasp; purple jade (dyed); ceramic rounded squares and drops; Czech chandeliers and rondelles; wood rounds; matte rust seed beads

Laud this is a fantastic necklace. My choice would be to have the flower focal like a pendant as you show in the bottom picture. I can’t explain why – just prefer that. And I like the clasp on the side as well. Its so gorgeous!

Another fabulously stunning piece! I like the third pic…with the Kylie Parry piece as the focal. Such an interesting, fun design!

I like the feel of the flower as focal, I think because I like the spikes together on that one side. But very cool!

  6. Laud
    Laud says:

I changed the main picture here because I discovered I liked the spikes on the side, too, but I still like the focal a little off center (just like me…).

    Gail Layne says:

I like it best with the flower as the focal too! That way you see more of the purple jade which is also gorgeous! Wonderful design as usual, Laud!

    Deb Harding says:

Okay…the one I like best is the one that is not flower and toggle are at the same level on either side. All the spikes are on the right side of the photo. It looks windswept…like that is why there is only part of the flower left…or else it is tilted in the wind.
This is one of my favorite pendants also. You have definitely created a very.lovely necklace. I probably wouldn’t have thought of purple at all.

Well while I was commenting the photo I like best made itself the main photo.

Oh, good! I think that’s my current favorite. Windswept…? I like the name, too.

Although I prefer the photo with the “sunf” at the bottom of the necklace as a pendant, I think the other options are great as well. That to me is the beauty of your design, it looks good many ways, which gives you lots of options in one fabulous necklace. It just depends on how the mood hits you that day. ;) Fabulous!

  13. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

Yeah, let’s go with the new option one. :)

  14. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

It also makes a difference which direction you wrap it because the flow..(er) faces only one way. You have flipped the whole thing over to get windswept versus flow..(er) as focal. Like a picture negative.

  15. Gail Layne
    Gail Layne says:

Yup, the new option one is a winner! You can see all the different beads, both sides are balanced and the synergy is fantastic!

  16. Laud
    Laud says:

I could take off the pendant and have it facing outward, but I think that would set up opposing lines. Thoughts?

any necklace i wear works its way around; so one like this that looks gorgeous in any position is just PERFECT, Laud!

Make that but with a comma/,…..not butm! LOL I shouldn’t type before sunrise! LOl

  20. Gail Layne
    Gail Layne says:

I think Debs windswept description fits beautifully but if you change the direction of the sunf, you’ll lose that look and the terrific flow you have going on now.

  21. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

Leave it facing the same way. :) Mine was just an observation as my confused brain tried to reconcile the pictures! :)

    Laud says:

Thanks, everyone, for the great feedback and suggestions. Franny, love your comment about necklaces working their way around–I’m always fiddling with them and with bracelets, too. It’s fun to think I can let this necklace do its own thing and forget about it!

  23. Beadzilla aka Wanda
    Beadzilla aka Wanda says:

I personally like it with the pendant at the bottom, but it looks great anywhere you place it. When you can wear a piece any which way, it’s a winner. Gorgeous!
