A Patch of Blue

About this design:

The title refers to the one lone blue bead in this piece. I'm still trying to use up beads in my ever-growing stash!


12 handmade PC beads, handmade PC button and charm, waxed linen cord from LB, Czech rondelles, assorted $1 glass beads (per bag) from WallyWorld, and 6/0 rootbeer Czech seedbeads.

    So colorful!! I like the tiny darker beads between to break up the color.
    Okay questions on your PC beads. After you bake them do you do anything else to them? Sand, paint, put on a protective coat. I’m asking because I have those bead canes from years ago. I just finished shaping and baking them. But they are so dull…which is fine on some but not others. I’m just not sure what to do now and there are waaaaaaaay to many answers on google.

    DEB—after baking, I sand rough edges if necessary. Then paint and give them two coats of sealer. I like a glossy bead, and that ensures the paint won’t rub or chip off.
