Purple Power

About this design:

2 bracelets using the same ceramic tube bead as a focal. (Part of FMG $1 sale/strand with 4) 1st is slightly more dressy. 2nd a little more rustic. Both are having some construction issues and will probably have to be restrung. 1st one the button hole loop is not quite big enough and I know the edge the button is going to cut that cord. 2nd one I think I have to redo only the wire loops in the tube or find another way. There is tightness in the connection there. Just wanted opinions on looks.

The 2nd bracelet is made of beads from 2 different. 1980's twist-a-bead necklaces. Wish I could find more of those necklaces!!!

1) Ceramic tube. Lilac and white glass pearls. Lucite flowers. Toho wisteria seed beads. Various small purple beads. Shell button. S-lon cord. 2) Ceramic tube. Round purple stone beads. Purple stone chips. Purple quartz chips. Various purple beads. Toho wisteria seed beads. Lilac czech glass flower bead caps.

Love the look – you have a real talent for taking a unique approach. Beautiful in purple! (Inspired me to look at some tube beads I have in a different way.)

Your talent for design never ceases to amaze me! Love both of these, but the second is my fav–love the dangles!

The first one reminds me of a wrist corsage! It’s beautiful and very dressy. The second one is my favorite though. It actually got an out loud “oooooooh” when I got to the picture. I love the mix of colors and how the tube bead is allowed to shine on its own. I would totally buy this for myself and wear it a lot!!

Deb! I just had the most awesome brainstorm! I was taking a back break and started thinking about my kids upcoming wedding and your first bracelet popped into my head. What a fantastic bridesmaids bracelet that would make!!! If you could do custom colors, I bet you could sell those by the truckloads!! The addition of the flower makes it different from all the normal pearl and crystal ones I’ve seen and really adds oomph!

Deb, these are both so gorgeous. I love the elegant feel of the first one and Gail’s suggestion sounds great. That could be a big seller. The second one is so me and the rustic look as you described it is perfect. I’m sure you’ll work out the kinks in no time.

Gail that is actually a very good idea. The only problem is getting plain tube beads in specific colors. These were a clearance item at FMG..I.went to the website after reading your suggestion and couldn’t even find these. They had a greenish/aqua color…
Thanks Gail, Angela, Wanda, & N4B.

Deb, I love them both, the colors are so yummy and the little problems can always be worked out, those are definitely winners, as to Gail and Angela suggestions, just keep your eyes open, I think that aqua will look great and you might take the idea and use different elements.

Deb, what about the Tauga Nut tubes? There’s a couple if colors right there and they’re certainly not expensive.

True…hmmmm. And they are shiny….has to be shiny.

Super cool Deb. Not sure which I like better… the dressy or the casual. I’m crazy about dangles, but I also love the cluster of flowers.

Love them both!!! Could you string the first one on waxed linen to make the buttonhole loop a little tougher? I also would love to be your supplier of tube beads in ANY color made from PC! Just let me know!!! :)

    Gail Layne says:

Deb, There is also the pc option which you could paint whatever you wanted. Didn’t you say you were starting to dabble in it?

Note to self: Read the other comments BEFORE making yours!

I see Becky has already volunteered to be your pc designer, sounds like a deal to me!

Unfortunately I can’t use waxed linen because of the holes on the pearls. I can barely get the s-lon in there. As far as needing a supply..mmm…the reason I did these is the tubes were big and I was questioning using them in a necklace. So I thought *bracelet bar/tube*. But Gail’s idea was interesting so I’m thinking about it.

Mail…the only thing was a Southern Living mag and my car insurance bill. Am I expecting mail??

    puppychick labratbecky says:

I hope so…… :) I was afraid of that with the hole sizes of pearls. Tagua nuts would be lightweight, too, but if you are already playing with PC, do them in white and paint them.

I sent you a shoebox sized care package from me and Merilee. We were downsizing. :)

The only PC I’ve been playing with is the pre-made canes I’ve had for 15 years. I just decided to go ahead and make all the beads. I have gotten any newer clay.

I’m expecting a box!!! Cool. I’m excited! When did you mail it? Our mail lady has been distracted lately…she left my neighbors diabetic meds a street over.

Love this. I have some blue ceramic tubes that I made earrings out of and really have not liked them very much. I feel that they have not sold because I don’t show them often because of my dislike. Thanks for giving me an idea to re-do. :-)
