From Paris with Love

About this design:

Years ago my mother brought my grandmother back a silk blouse from Paris. Gram cherished that blouse and when it finally wore out she cut the buttons off and saved them . I recently found the buttons, individually wrapped in tissue paper, in a little box. The pendant is made with one of the buttons and dark purple epoxy clay and bronze fairy dust. The bezel had a huge, not very attractive bail that kept interfering with the beads so I wire wrapped it with Czech flowers and sparkles.

Czech Glass beads and flowers, brass bezel and clasp, Gram's button, dark purple epoxy clay, bronze fairy dust.

Isn’t it wonderful having a piece of something that was your grandmothers. I have faux pearls that belonged to mine. The string broke but I saved them in a class box. Some day when I’m inspired, I make something of them for my granddaughter. This is lovely.

So sweet, and utterly romantic. As the others have said a wonderful way to remember your Gram, and a piece of family history. :D

Thank you all! This piece ended up being more Gram’s style then mine but surprisingly it can be worn with a lot. I thought it was going to be too dressy/frilly to go with much but it doesn’t really come across that way when on. Which is a very good thing since I don’t do dressy very much anymore and I never did frilly! :-)
