About this design:

I was so impressed by Jess's PC bead carving skills, that I took a look at her link to Polyform. I saw the tutorial there, and this is the result...minus one cut thumb! What do y'all think?? I wish you could see the carving on the beads more clearly...this is the best I can do!

Sculpey III PC, X-acto knife.

I love these – a great look – casual enough to wear w/jeans yet also very special because they are so unique. Great job!

These are cool! The top ones look like real rocks and I love the soft colors on the bottom set. Is there pink peeking out of those?

I love them both but the bottom one’s my fave!

Your welcome! Thanks! These are AWESOME! The colors are fantastic! I’m sorry about your finger…I stabbed myself twice last night too! Sheesh! Geodes are addictive once you start doing them…they are just dangerous!lol ;) What do you use as a sealer? I use the Sculpey glaze but I both like it and despise it!

Thanks so much Jess….and you are sooo right, the geodes are totally addictive–I have done about 30 of them so far! I use Americana DuraClear gloss varnish. I have used it a long time, and one coat seems to give these just the light shine they need.

Your welcome! lol I had to take a break from geodes cause my hands were starting to hurt! A few days of carving geodes will give you carpal tunnel! lol Does the American DuraClear gloss get tacky? Do you know whether they make a matte finish? The sculpey gloss is a pain cause it leaves streaks sometimes and gets gummy! I want something in a matte finish too but haven’t been able to find one!

Jess–I have never noticed the DuraClear getting tacky. I’ve never had a problem with it at all. I use it on many different materials, and no problems. I don’t know if they make a matte kind or not…sorry!
