About this design:

Lately I've been obsessed with Medieval rosaries. I did a lot of research and found out a lot of interesting facts. like amethyst was believed to ward of drunkenness.

These are lovely. I have always been partial to rosaries, and have quite a collection from all my parochial school days! I love the colors in these and they are truly unique.

Medieval rosaries were made with a little extra thread so the beads could be slipped along for easy counting.

Oh wow! These are super awesome! Are the tassels for decoration or did they serve some sort of purpose? Love the stones you used. Their “rough cut” appearance really adds to to the illusion of an aged artifact. Love the color combo too!

Thanks Nancy! Gail the tassels were just Decorative. Some rosaries were simply a string of beads, no cross, no tassel. And as I’m sure you’ve noticed not all were circular some were linear. The linear style often ended in a ring for hanging on the wall.

These are beautiful rosaries and the colors you have chosen for each one makes them special. Thanks for the info on rosaries. I know next to nothing about them. :)

The bit about amethyst makes sense. It’s believed to contain metaphysical properties that help with being alert, awaren, increased intuition and to increase deep thinking, I believe. Can’t do any of those things when we’re drunk!!!! At any rate, they’re beautiful!
