Luminous Lilac

About this design:

I found this Pandora style bead as a bundle at Walmart the other day. I loved the shimmer and the bright lilac color. I got them for the large hole that will accommodate several strands of leather and you know how much leather stuff I've been experimenting with lately. ;)

Jasper rondelles, Czech glass, suede lace from my stash. Toho seed beads, Czech glass flower, pewter lily and leaf charms TierraCast large hole beads, silver plated chain and 18g & 22g silver plated wire for my hook clasp all from LB.

Oh Angela~~~~can I just say kudos to you for making a Pandora style bead work for you, instead of buying the real thing?? Yes,of course, they’re very pretty, but their prices are off the hook, imho. (I do stop in and browse, but NO WAY would I pay those prices).
    You go girl! :)

Very pretty….I love multiple strands, and the colors are so subtle and delicate. There used to be a website, called Lord and Ladies, who carried Pandora style beads. I have six of those bracelets to prove it! LOL They had fabulous Pandora style beads for $1-$2 each…many with silver insets also. Sadly, they are no longer in business– maybe their super-low prices did them in! LOL Anyway, I am a fan of those beads, and this bracelet is wonderful.

Oh wow! What a fabulous way to use a Pandora style bead! Love the design and the colors are gorgeous! What are the transparent blueish/purple beads? The color in them is astounding.

I really love this and the way you incorporated the leather Whenever I try to use leather it ends up looking dorky. I guess I need to go to a class or something. This is very very nice.

Thank you all so much! I really appreciate all of your comments.
NancyMC and Beadaholic, I was so happy to find these bead bundles for $5 because a gift shop in town sells one bead for $5 and they are not even silver plated!
Gail, I got those blueish/purple beads from Joanns a few years ago. They were on a strand of many colored Czech glass beads. I thought they were just purple until I photographed them and the blue showed through from the backlight. Oh well! I like them anyway ’cause they only look purple otherwise. Who knew? :)

Love this, Angela! The leather addition is perfect for the lone focal bead! And your clasp is fantastic! :) I just made and mangled a 4 strand bracelet today which I will be redoing but I had a similar strand of seed beads in it and that part actually worked. :) Back to the drawing board for me but you have this design nailed!!! :)

Angela, I think the blueish purple looks fantastic with the lilac! It’s a nice sparkle too, which compliments the sparkle in the focal.

The pandora bead with the leather – is waht I need to know about; H-O-W did you ‘fasten’ the leather ends? And how did you get the lealther through the smaller-holed silver beads? And the leather ‘wrap’; is that a separate cut piece of leather? If so I assume you glued the ends?

I’d so love to do something like this, but I can find no tutorials (printed, not video!!!).

    Thanks again everyone!

Hey Sydney, thanks for asking! The leather link is made with one piece of leather that is doubled back on itself on each end and knotted close to the bead. Here is the only written/illustrated tutorial I could find for that type of knot. http://bnb.jewelrymakingmagazi.....iding-knot Of course, let me know if you have any questions! :)

The silver beads are TierraCast “large hole” beads that I bought right here from Lima Beads. Just look in the large hole bead section.
