Hearts Afire

About this design:

I wanted to make some wire heart links to use for some Valentine's themed pieces. This one took me a lot of work and left my fingers sore, but now I have them down pat. So I'll probably make a few more.

Glass beads, gold plated wire 22 and 20 gauge for the jump rings, heart links and clasp.

I normally dislike sentimental-ish jewelry but this is wicked cool! After the Valentines holiday, I can see this as a choker with small black beads for a “black heart”. Annnd, yes, I’m totally weird :-) Great job on the hearts. The sore fingers were worth it!

Wow..those hearts are too cool! No wonder your hands were sore. I agree that it was worth it. It looks dainty and beautiful, and of course can be worn all year round. The hearts are fantastic, but they’re a bit abstract,if you know what I mean.
    Too cool!

So cute, Angela! Those hearts look a little like the links I make only inside out. I will have to try them. :) How long do you cut the wire?

    Thanks Judy and Becky!

Becky, I cut the wire just a smidge over 1 inch and curled each end over the smallest step of my coiler pliers (2mm) and then bent in the middle so that each curl meets. It took me several tries to get the right length of wire for the size coil but when I did, it all was cake (a piece of crumb cake) after that. ;)

MMMM crumb cake :-D Sorry the cake distracted me for a bit ;)

Love this bracelet, Angela! It is perfect for valentines day, and any other day. The gold just makes the red look so sharp, and your wire hearts are to die for! LOVE, love, love it!

p.s. Now I will have to make a crumb cake tomorrow. Thanks :)
