About this design:

I wanted to do something for Valentine's Day that was just a little bit funky; I'm not sure I'm done w/it yet; have to search out a black clasp I KNOW I have and maybe add a dangle above the silver bead and on the tail.

GG Pewter Rose Pendant; LB black chain; a few Czech glass beads and some dyed jade from my stash. The purpose of the silver bead is to hide the crimp; I then added the dangle to keep the silver bead from moving up on the chain.

Would love to wear this!! :-) Like the assymetry at the sides! Know what you mean with the clasps that never want to match — I always think I have one in the right color, but find I apparently imagined it… That’s the main reason I started to twist and hammer for myself…but black would need some patina.

Wanted to mention that I love the black chain with this, gives it a bit of “edge”. Love it!

Thanks for all the positive input. This was an aggravation all the way through – got just about finished when I realized that some of the teeny-tiny black beads were a different shape – Agh.

Hey Judy, I just wanted to mention that if you are crimping wire and chain together sometimes you can hide your crimp by ending your design with a bead with a slightly larger hole. If you can get the crimp tight the larger hole bead will slide over and cover it. How you hid it on this piece looks great, just wanted to share a helpful hint :-)

Thanks Gail – you are always helpful. I used a jump ring w/this because the chain edges were not rounded. (had to squash the ring a bit.) I was afraid that the chain would cut through the wire.
