Earrings Everyday!

About this design:

If you love earrings, then please head over to the Earrings Everyday blog and check out this month's challenge. The inspiration was a photo of a pair of 'loving' damsel dragonflies.
I chose to dig into my large stash of colorful seed beads to create this wired design in copper. Great fun to see the many different directions people took with this inspiration image.

Beautiful interpretation of the photo! Before I read your theme, I imagined sea creatures–at least, I got the creature part right. Love the colors and the flowing design.

Beautiful, love what you have done with the wire, admiring you girls for taking a part in all the challenges and following all the blogs, how do you find the time?

Thanks, everyone! This is looking to be a great on-going challenge for earrings.
And Asia, good question. I do have to pick and choose what I commit to depending on what else is going on in life, but many of these challenges have not only been fun, but upped my design skills and techniques. It also helps that I’m retired! Just saying…

Lynda, do you mind sharing what type of wire you used (or technique if that’s more the case) to have them keep their shape? I just love the idea of using some seed beads that way!

OK you guys have inspired me! I’ll make some for March… just have to remember to check in early in the month & get cracking!
    So much fun….

But wait! I just checked out the Earrings Everyday page… must one have a blog to submit earrings? That’s too much work for me.

  25. Fresh Baked
    Fresh Baked says:

You’re right, you would need to have a blog to post your designs. I forgot. You could still play along for fun or perhaps check back on the third Friday of the month to enjoy the viewing. Bummer.

Note to Sarajo…I used 22 g copper wire. I glued the turquoise bead on the end first. Bent the wire and strung on all the beads. It was pretty easy to shape with my fingers. Copper is so great that way. The tiny spiral swirl at the end was all that was needed to keep everything in place.

I love the earrings! As far as the dragonflies, I think that the look of one of the flies reaching up in a sexual advance was just a little much Lol. Good job! Love it and I know many of us were thinking it.
