Ammonite and Lapis bib necklace

About this design:

I started this one as a much smaller less ambitious necklace with just one big ammonite focal. But as as started beading around it I realized that it was "asking" for something bigger. So I added the crystal and smaller lapis and finally created the two stripes on both sides. Hence this is not a solid bib design. The necklace is made-up of three parts connected by rice pearls beads.

Ammonite, Lapis, TOHO seed beads, miyuki seed beads, Swarowski crystals

How long did it take you to do that – and do you have kids like Ali? That is just too beautiful and I agree with Judy – Cleo must be spinning in her grave about now to have missed out on that one!!

I honor your hard work. Lapis is easy on the eyes and everyone has something in the closet to go with it. If you sell this I hope you get your labor back because the public has no idea how much work goes into these unbelievable pieces.

An incredible piece! I have that rainbow-brownish hue of TOHO beads too (but larger), but I would NEVER think of doing anything like this with them! They will probably find themselves strung onto some plain ordinary piece…

    ALWAYS fabulous Miannda!
As a Florida girl, I like the nautilus shape. But even more: I recently went to the Dali museum in Tampa and the majority of his works are built around his concept of the “golden rectangle” which radiates outwards and eventually resembles a nautilus. The tight action and intensity in the center and then the details spread out around the edges.
