wire bracelets

About this design:

Last night I was suffering from insomnia, so I ended up making these bracelets in the early hours of the morning.
I wrapped the wire around each stone but instead of doing the whole bracelet like this, I decided to add a chain to make it adjustable plus I love the look of the wire chain in my designs. I also tried out a herringbone weave on one of them and I think it turned out ok for my first try!

various 10mm round beads - Amazonite, Carnelian, green Agate, 20 gauge gunmetal colored copper wire for the wrapping and to make the jump rings for the chain and also for the clasp which I hammered.

Gorgeous pieces and I love the wirework! :D My favorite is the one with the more elaborate wirewrap around one of the beads (is this one the herringbone weave?) but they are all wonderful! May I ask which brand of wire you used? I love the color and it looks like it holds up well without chipping (of course I realize that some of my problems with this are because I am new to wirework, but some of them seem to chip just by my looking at them too closely, lol!).

Thank you for your kind comments everyone. I am thinking I should stack these and wear them all together! I think they would look pretty cool.
Erin, the wire I used for these is actually from Hobby lobby. it’s a copper wire and the color is gunmetal. I’m not sure, but I think the brand is artistic wire. Although I am looking for a good supplier as I am using a lot more wire now and the hobby stores can be quite expensive. Good luck with your wire work, you will find it most enjoyable! :)

These are gorgeous! ( and yes, I believe Artistic Wire is the brand Hobby Lobby carries, I just got some brown colored Artistic Wire from them on clearance-not sure what I’m going to do with it yet, but it’s a pretty burgundy brownish shade) I love your wirework, and I agree-they’d probably look amazing stacked! Keep up the beautiful work! =^___^=

Erin, Not sure if you’ll see this but I’ve found that Parawire chips the least, particularly the Vintaj brand. Unfortunately, sometimes it hard to find the gauge you need in the color you want in Vintaj. I dont know if the LB brand is comparable . The Art Metal color in Vintaj is really tough. It’s a gun metal type color but without quite as much shine. You might want to check it out. Btw, if you ever find a tough black, I want to know!!

“OK” for your first try???!!! Are you kidding me?? That is a PERFECT herringbone. I’d love to do that, but – everything ‘instructional’ is on video and I have to have the printed word so I can sit in my recliner. Printed with pics, of course.

@Kerry, I think they would look great stacked together although each is lovely on its own too! :) Thank you for the info! I wonder if it varies a lot by color? Although the hematite Artistic Wire is beautiful, it does chip easily whereas the rose gold Parawire is quite resilient. I will continue experimenting with colors from both brands and I am indeed enjoy wirework very much! :D

@Gail, thank you! I have had good experience with Parawire so far and will let you know how the black and hematite hold up! (Or have you tried these already? The hematite wire was chipped by metal tools, but that is unavoidable I think; I haven’t yet tested how it holds up to wire-weaving.)
