"Bronzing on the Beach"

About this design:

My inspiration for "Bronzing on the Beach" was the beautiful black shell pendant. I used ivory and bronze pearls in this piece along with silver and gold accents. The pendant cap and bail is silver, but there are hints of bronze in the shell and so I chose mixed metals. I used my new looper to create a cluster of pearls on one side. The necklace is 21" long and has a toggle clasp.

2" round natural black shell pendant, bronze and ivory pearls, silver daisies and toggle clasp, gold spacers.

I love that you mixed the metals in this piece. They go great with that stunning shell pendant! Beautiful!

This is absolutely stunning! Your choice of beads for the pendant is wonderful. What is your “new looper”? Are you talking about Wubber’s looping pliers? If so, how do you like them? Great job–I love all of your pieces! :)

This one is called 1-step looper and is made by Bead Smith. It’s easy and I’ve had lots of fun with it. Just finished a piece that has over 250 beads on loops. Didn’t take me that long. You should get one.

Looper is about $25-30 on EBay.

Yeah that WOW pendant!! I’ve never seen anything like it. Do you know where on the planet it originated? And beautiful necklace, but that pendant almost takes away from the rest of it – LOL

Now don’t take this wrong; I just looked at the close up of yur ‘looped’ beads; I do the same thing with round nosed pliers – at $12.50 a pair. Now tell me WHY I need to spend $25-30 on Ebay for loopers? I really do want to know; I may get a pair.

A real stunner for sure! That pendant is gorgeous, and the pearls and mixed metals really compliment it!

I like the one step looper because I have arthritis in my hands and making the loop with pliers is very hard for me. Actually my looper was a gift from the lady who owned our local bead shop and was my mentor and encourager. She gifted me these so that I could make loops. So if you have a hard time with pliers, they are great.

Sylvia, thanks for the info on the loopers–I will definitely check it out. When you have to make many loops for a project, this would come in super handy. I love to link many of my pieces together, and yes, my wrist gets very sore too. Thanks again! :)
