Peacock Queen

About this design:

This piece took the better part of yesterday to complete, mainly because of how many homemade pieces were involved. The pendant inspired the look and the title-it's an older Gaea piece from 2004, and has a tribal flair to it. I made every link, and several of the Eyepins, as well. The clasp hook was also handmade, and I wire wrapped a bail for the Queen. The tassel was from a gemstone strand-I saw someone on Etsy selling just the tassels for jewelry making, and thought, 'What a good idea, I'll save mine, then.' I used Peacock Square pearls to tie in to the theme, as well as wire wrapping around large-holed bronze and greenish pearls on teal leather lace. It is a fairly long necklace-the opposite of my 'Blooming Through' which is fairly short-and hits just below my bosom. I like the funky vibe it has, though-and long just seems to fit with the Queen attitude.

Artisan Copper Parawire: 18, 20, 24, 26 Gauge; Solid Copper: Eyepins, Etched Pillow Beads, Chain-2 Types, Small Washer-like rings, JumpRings; TierraCast: Central ring, Sunburst Rings on sides, Medium Tiny floral Rings( including the one used as the eye part of the clasp); Gaea Pendant from 2004; Silky Tassel; Leather Lace in Teal; Square-ish Peacock Pearls; Large holed Pearls in Bronzish and Greenish shades; Two Aquamarine Teardrop beads

Teal leather lace with wire-wrapped pearls– I’m in love with that design element! You could create a three-strand necklace with that look alone! Beautiful, amazing work, my dear!
