Swirls of Color

About this design:

I have been studying color theory and was pleasantly surprised by the amethyst and forest green pairing. The green pendant and silver connector make an excellent focal piece when put together. There is supposed to be another link under the "S" but I snipped it off with wire cutters.

Amethyst Czech glass, Nunn Design Sterling Silver plated connector, stainless steel wire, crystal rondelles, Tagua nut olive potato chip (pendant piece), emerald Picasso window oval

A very well crafted and designed necklace with an unusual combination of colors. The combination of violet and green work very well together and yet it isn’t one of the first combo you’d think of. Explore colors and have fun!! :)

Color theory is a fascinating subject. When I was still teaching art classes it was one of my favorite things to teach. I especially enjoyed watching the students try out all kinds of color combinations and mixing unlikely colors together. If you paint try mixing every color with each of the other colors. Wild combos and strange new colors! :D

That is a beautiful necklace; but I’ve seen green and violet, purple, lavendar together a lot, but you can make the same combo look quitge different with different shapes, shades, sizes, textures; it’s really amazing how you ‘change’ the same colors.
