Marvelous Malachite

About this design:

The neck wire part of this necklace is one I've had for quite some time. The bead in it is from the great find I made a couple of weeks ago. I went to a street fair that was for antiques and collectables. In one booth I saw a basket with bags of beads in it. The bags were sort of grungy so it was hard to tell just what was in them. I open the one I could see had green beads in it. Surprise! The green beads were malachite! The bag was marked $5.00. Of course I had to buy it.

When I got home I emptied the bag and found 24 hand cut malachite beads of various sizes and 1/2 of a broken bead.

Now, what am I going to make...?

12 gauge copper wire, 24 gauge copper wire and 1 malachite bead

The necklace design is just great! I’ve been thinking along similar lines lately, inspired by you I suspect, but so far nothing has materialized… so seeing this felt sort of “but that could have been mine — only SO much better!” LOVE the way you framed the bead, and the finish is superb! Now I have to be even more creative if I try one of these stiff ones…
And congrats on the bead find!
