:) Unfortunately, those beads represent almost the end of my round mystic blue feldspath stash. :( So sad. this began as a mistake–I cut the leather too short for another project and since I go by waste not, want not :) I had to scramble to find a use for it. This whole piece was scavenged so I thought the button was a good fit.

The little silver beads are SEED beads??? They look like hammered silver from here and really make the blues pop! Love the bright cord against the beads too. Great salvage job! Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

Thanks girls! Asia, LOL!!!! Looks that way, doesn’t it? :-D !

Those are nickel colored seed beads. I use them all the time because of how they look. Bought ‘em here.

I worked them in because of the gaps between the stones and the extra weaving actually strengthened the bracelet. So a big big boo-boo turned out better than expected. :) Sometimes I do get lucky. :)

I love all things piratey! I see how you did that extra waving with the seed beads Becky and it’s very clever.

love how you keep exploring & expanding your themes & designs, Becky…this is a gorgeous colour espec. with the silver note….what size are the gemstones & seedbeads, can i ask?

  17. GemVibes aka Cat Tayler
    GemVibes aka Cat Tayler says:

This bracelet is a treasure! I love anything to do with the old pirate days. I can see a wench on the bow of a ship wearing this……love it! It is kind of a shame that you cannot make any more of these as I can assure you that this would be a big seller.

  18. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

Franny: the gemstone rounds are at least 8mm, maybe 10mm? and the seed beads are 6.0. It was a stretch to think I could even use rounds this big for this type of design and the holes between beads illustrated why. I do like how the seed beads filled those in, though. When I saw how the feldspath looked with the leather, I really wanted to try this. I have a lot of disastrous experiments, too, but this one worked.

thanks for all the kind comments!!! xoxoxo!!
