We Be Jammin' in Jamaica

About this design:

I wanted to make a bracelet that was fun, multi-layered and versatile. This bracelet is designed to be worn all together, with or without ribbon or any combination of singles, with or without ribbon. Its colors and feel remind me of Jamaica, where the golden sands butt right up to lush, green mountains.
Also, the beads are strung on "Stretch Magic." Not my fav. Can anyone suggest a stronger, more stable alternative.

The green beads that look like peas are river shell dyed peridot green. The green disk is also painted shell, etched with gold. The ribbon is hand painted silk. Other, smaller beads are wood, antique copper, Czech glass and various sizes of seed beads.

Love this all together with the ribbon! Don’t know of a stretchy alternative but I’d put all the strands together with a clasp or make it a wrap. Did I mention I really love it all together? :-)

Beautiful combo! Love the greens and the title!!

I know what you mean about finding good elastic. It’s either too thick or thin or brittle or loose or tight… I will look through my stash to see if I have anything better. Later….

Happy Sunday and Thanks to all of you! You are all very sweet and thoughtful.
Special thanks to you “Puppychick”. I think the stretch magic is passable for some of the lightweight seed bead wristlettes, but the chunkier ones could definitely use thicker and stronger. I’d love to know if you come across anything that you’ve used in the past and liked.

The best stretch elastic I have found so far is Beadalon – Elasticity – always stays clear – does not yellow – and is stronger than the Stretch magic.. I use the 0.8 mm. Hope this helps.. :)
