Becky Inspired

About this design:

This design was inspired by a pick Becky did called Giddyup Palomino. In the description she asked, what to do with Tiger Eye. Well I myself have tried to use tiger eye and never have succeeded. I would add it to a design only later taking it out, thinking it just doesn't go. So then later in her comment she said, anyone up for a challenge? Well I couldn't get it off my mind and had to start fiddling with it, trying to come up with something. This is what I came up with. The pictures shows the chain being right next to the beaded strand, which it is not when you put it on. It hangs down from the strand.

Tiger Eye nuggets and rounds, Sunset Jasper rounds, Bronzite rodelles, ceramic rondelle washer beads, antique brass chain, spacers, beads, bead caps and clasp.

Gorgeous design Wanda! I too have a difficult time incorporating Tiger’s Eye, but you did a fantastic job! I love how you used the jump rings hanging down between the beads. Genius! :)

Thanks everyone! It is mostly tiger eye, so I’m not sure you can call that incorporating it in. LOL However I was quite surprised at how well the sunset jasper went with it, and the golden ceramic rondelles. The rings in between the beads are the same rollo chain used for the chain strand. I just used three links.

Fabulous design, Wanda – - you made the tiger eye stunning with the addition of the ceramic. Love the pairing with bronzite, too – - have used them together several times myself.

I like how the washers mimic the stripes on the tiger eye!! Very nice! Maybe I need to give it a try next time I buy gemstones. (which happens very frequently I’m afraid. :) )

Wow, Wanda, you made the tiger’s eye look fabulous!! I really like how you did the rings in between the beads with 3 links of the roll chain – that looks really neat. And having the chain underneath makes the tiger’s eye share the show, which I think is exactly what tiger’s eye needs. I also really like your use of the ceramic! Amazing piece!

Tiger Eye IS fabulous, and I think it works best like this, nearly on its own — with a few other things on the side, if you like. Before I really started to do jewelry, 15 years ago, I had a fave necklace with just Tiger Eye, which I’d shortened to a choker myself. Used it all the time.
LOVE the chain spacers — have to put this into faves, to steal ;-)
This is such a classy piece!
