Lima's African Glass as Focal

About this design:

Hi Ladies,
Per our chat about how to hide the knots in stretch bracelets. Here's a great looking bead. The Recycled African Glass from Lima. Not only are they very pretty to look at,but the holes are huge.
I've photographed them in super close up so you could see how well they would work. The black cord is 1 MM,and you can see how much room is left over. I am loving this recycled glass. I think this shade of green is to die for! ;)

Components:

Matte Aventurine in 10+6MM,copper colored seed beads, copper spacers.Faceted Onyx in 10MM,Rhodium plated spacers from Lima,SP bead caps.

Nancy, I really like how you design your stretch bracelets. You have combined quality elements to create beautiful pieces. The recycled glass beads are a lot of fun, and I like the way you incorporated them into the bracelets as focals. Lovely contrasts with the black and soft matte finish. :)

Thanks so much,C.C. They’re so much fun to string. (And so easy.) I do a lot of browsing in the stores, and cannot believe how much $$$ the stores charge for this type of item. I get a huge charge of of copying them. I appreciate your comments very much. :)

These three bracelets would make those stores squirm and wiggle if they knew how much better your bracelets are than theirs and most likely for less money. I like the blues with the copper and green, but the black is amazing with the green.

WOW Nancy I just love these. That green is my favorite. You didn’t have any problem getting 1mm through the onyx beads?

Love them! What kind of elastic do you use and where do you get it? I have had cusomers comment on how hard-to-stretch some of my elastic is but I feel i need to buy what I use to keep them from breaking easily. I have had to restring many store-bought bracelets for friends so I am keenly aware of the quality of elastic that I use in my bracelets. I would love to hear from any of you about elastic preferences. Right now I buy the 1mm from LB.

    Nancy Mc says:

Hi ladies. I use “Stretch Magic” brand, and get it at Hobby Lobby or a store at the mall called A.C Moore.
Kat..the 1MM fits fine in the Onyx, but I believe I got the faceted onyx from a craft store. I think it was A.C Moore.

Oh,BTW. My friends have been wearing these for about 2 years, and no breakage reports. They’re lifelong friends and would tell me and ask for repairs as well lol!
