Woven Cord Bracelet

About this design:

This is another bracelet made with memory wire in the core of the cord. I used Remembrance stainless steel wire from LB and like this wire better. I bought this cotton cord from LB in 2015. So, I have had this cord for a while. Wanted to do something different with it. This technique fits the bill.

Components:

Blue woven cord, Remembrance stainless steel memory wire, Terracast cross round charm, Terracast Earth charm, Free 6mm glass beads, Toho size 6 seed beads from my stash, silver end caps from my stash, silver beads from my stash

This is wonderful and looks so comfortable to wear. I love the ends and the charms too. I have really liked the woven bracelets, but have not yet tried to make one – I never thought of the memory wire, but it makes so much sense.

Donna, you are an inspiration! I have several pieces of woven cord for bracelets. I’m getting ready to start working on beading again after about 3 years of just making gifts for Christmas for my mom. The bracelets are first on my project list. I now have some ideas for second or third of each colors.

We are on the same wavelength Donna! I just finished several cotton cord bracelets & a few leather ones too. I really love your idea of running the memory wire through it & extending out some. You get more options for beading that way. And if those are JBB antique brass end caps, I love those & used them on my kumi design with the magatamas. I also love the charms on the ends.

You have inspired me to try memory wire! I never really liked the look of pieces based on it, but you have found a really rational use for it. I really like the charms beyond the endcap thing. Good job, love it, a fave!

Thank you everyone! Means a lot coming from all of you! Just a hint if you try this – coil the cotton cord as you are inserting the memory wire. Found it helps the process. Thanks again!

I redid the leather cord one using the remembrance wire. Like my rework bracelet so much better. What do you think?

Moogie, I had these cord ends in my stash. Forgot they were JBB. They fit over the cord ends so well! Ha!

Wow! First of all I really like the cord! Wish LB had that color still! Second, I love that you can really bead the bracelet not just hang charms. This one looks fabulous!
