Dragon's Cave
by Poms Forever aka Donna on 10/13/17
About this design:
This is a group of necklaces I have made in the past. I am in the midst of redoing my work stations. I am going to do more metal and wire working. One necklace I actually won the beads from a Gaea Blog. You can see my exploration of techniques. The Dragon pendant is from L.B. that I colored and sealed with resin.
Components:
A lot of the components came from Lima Beads. Components you don't recognize came from my stash. The Dragon necklace highlights buys from L.B. to make up what I imagine a dragon's cave might look like.Read the comments (or add your own)

Poms Forever aka Donna says:Just want to apologize for lumping all of the necklaces together in one post. Clearly, it is not what I am going to do in the future. But, we have been so busy since my daughter moved back [a good thing] and now trying to clean things out. We have been in the house for 25 years and things have been stored instead of donated. So, hope you forgive me. I am headed to the basement for more of the same. LOL! I always check the site for your projects and Lima Bead sales. But, haven’t always taken time to respond. Forgive me because you are a treasured group of designers that have helped me tremendously. Thanks for your inspiration and words of encouragement over the years.

Tana says:Donna, no apologizes here! I likem “lumped” together. Got very slow internet.
They’re all very nice and pleasing to the eye. My fav is the top right and the pendants under them. I’ve been wanting to try that line by Nunn Design, especially the tree ones! I haven’t worked with resin. Thanks for showing!
Have fun going through all ur stuff!!!

S KatollakaSue says:A beautiful body of work! So many interesting items worked in, such wonderful colors. Yum! It’s a lot to look at but that’s okay. When I run out of reading material, I can come back here and gaze. Love it!

dolllady aka Pam says:I like seeing all of your necklaces. They all are made so beautifully. I especially like the tiger iron pendant necklace. I have that pendant and haven’t decided what t0 put with it. Please forgive me if there are typos in this. I’m sitting in bed with my laptop and holding my new 2 mo. old 1lb. 4oz. chihahua puppy. I’m not used to typing one handed.

kye says:It’s so great to see your work! There’s such a wide variety of beautiful techniques. No need to apologize Donna. The Design Gallery is at it’s best when there are lots of designs to drool over. I’ve enjoyed each and every one of these beauties.

Elis Mom says:They are all beautiful, but I do especially love the color, texture, and sparkle of the dragon’s cave. You’ve captured what I imagine a dragon’s liar would look like perfectly!

Annas says:Really like your collection, what is the bead that is sparkling? The one on your dragon design. You give me a lot of inspiration I try to do some things but my MS gets in the way my hands shake a lot. Well I keep trying.

Moogie says:Donna, I’m dying here! I just love your necklaces. The dragon is my fav. How creative to color & seal the pendant. It is perfection! The sparkly beads are gorgeous druzy, Anusia. A little spendy but really worth it for the beauty. Seriously I could go on & on! The cute tiger beads with tiger iron; that gorgeous greenish focal-is that chrysocolla? I love anything turquoise/aqua. Super designing, dear! Thanks for sharing your work. Good luck cleaning up. All we “experienced homeowners” are probably in the same boat!

Poms Forever aka Donna says:Moogie is right. The sparkly grey beads are druzy. The bead that looks blue was a Czech bead that was featured on LB that prompted me to color the pendant in the Dragon necklace. Moogie, yes, I think that focal is chrysocolla, but I am not sure. One of those stones I picked up.
Thank you all for the kind comments. I want to thank all of you for your encouragement and inspiration. You are all such a great group of artists. I still think I have a lot to learn and am searching for my place in jewelry making, but know all of you have helped me in my journey.

Poms Forever aka Donna says:Just wanted to say that fantastic little Czech bead I was talking about was a matte Jet AB round 6mm, #24750. When I saw that bead I knew I had my combination of beads to make the Dragon necklace. Because I knew I wanted to do something different with the Dragon pyrite pendant, the blue that came out with light on that bead brought the design together. Love that Czech bead!

Poms Forever aka Donna says:The Nunn design necklaces I love too. I love doing resin and love all of Nunn components. They are so well made. When I saw the inspiration of Nunn designs using the black and white with copper. I just loved that. To me, the combination is pleasing to the eye. I signed up for Nunn’s blog and have enjoyed all of her posts. I am very grateful to all artists that share to inspire new artists. Lima Beads with Allie, Nunn design, Humble Beads, just to name a few. And that includes all of you. Thanks to all!

C Ferguson aka Annie says:Ooooh Donna – These are all wonderful. I love what you did on the dragon pendant and the necklace. The one with the bird’s nest on it is gorgeous as are all the necklaces.
I’ve been eying those Nunn Design pieces and may need to give resin a go – these are great.
