Dark Skies

About this design:

It sure seems like it's winter around here already. I've been inspired by the gray, overcast skies and cold temperatures of the encroaching winter. This time of year always makes me a bit melancholy.

This is the third time I've tried uploading my design. The photos look dark and out of focus. They're fine on this end. Is anyone else having this problem? I've noticed if you click on them for a closeup the photos are fine. Weird.

Components:

We've Got Maille jump rings for the Turkish Roundmaille weave. 20 gauge Artistic Wire, Dendritic Opal pendant, 6mm Picasso Marble Rounds, 4mm Black Gold Amazonite Roundelles (LB), and 4mm Moss Opalite Rounds (LB).

WOW!! As always I am so in awe of your chainmaille skills. Jump rings don’t like me so it is not something I will attempt. The pendant is fantastic, the wire wrapped section of beads set it off perfectly. I love the addition of beads up the chain.

Kye, you are so good at chainmaille! I have had problems with a couple of pieces that I have tried making. I don’t know but maybe I just didn’t have the right sizes of jump rings. I love this necklace. I have noticed a few pieces of jewelry that have had the same problem you have had with posting this necklace.

Amazingly complex chain maille – at least it looks complex. Really beautiful with the stones you chose. Big fave

Grrr…it is so frustrating when photos go wacky. Have not experienced this on LB myself. I would love to see your beautiful design in all it’s glory! I am fascinated by those triple beaded links in the chainmaille. They add even more goodness to this piece.

Thank you so much for commenting on my work. I couldn’t decide whether to try uploading again or give up. You’re so right Fresh Baked-it’s very frustrating. Pam, I wish I could help you out with your chainmaille. Too loose or too tight are usually the problems with incorrect jump ring size. That’s frustrating too. Anyway, thank you all for the kind words. :)

Omg This is breathtakingly beautiful! I am in awe/love with your chainmaille, Kye. I love the chunky-ness, the monochromatic colors, and that pendant is to die for! Truly stunning :)

Kye, this is a spectacular necklace! Your chainmaille additions to your pieces are so distinctive and special. I like how the bead clusters on the side so seamlessly blend into the Turkish Roundmaille weave. Perfect textural feature for the pendant’s ‘primitive’ feel. Super work! :)

I so know what you mean about the dark & fuzzy pictures. I had the same problem with my Primal Beginnings Second Necklace–it absolutely had me pulling my hair. Must of been a glitch with the system because uploading new pictures didn’t help me either.

I was looking through your designs–I can’t believe the intricacies of this weave! Oh my…looks very complicated! Fantastic! :)

I use a lot of 18 gauge 6mm OD 4mm ID rings for my designs. I’m glad you like my work. Thanks!
