Transformed Trio

About this design:

Upcycling more used leather belt bracelets...These three are finished and I have another good chunk of the $3 thrift store belt left to play with. I will keep checking stores, but there aren't many real leather belts... I'll stay on the hunt though because these are just awesome to use. The first one has a wired agate slice and button loop closure. I tried three different ways to close them...button and leather loop, leather lace with a sliding bead, and a nice big toggle clasp. These were all combos of embossing, painting, and ink stamped.

Components:

leather, acrylic paint, ink, stone, metal bracelet connectors, Ren Wax to protect the finishes.

These are all so pretty! I think I like the loop and button closure the best. The silver and bronze is my favorite, but I really like them all.

I agree with all of the above.. These are gorgeous. I adore the one with the slab of stone and the earthy, organic way you used that lovely button and leather cord.

I cannot stop looking at that leather loop and button combo. Frankly, that can be a statement piece in and of itself. You have an extraordinary eye for detail.

I’m really liking your leather creations. They are eye catching and creative and it sounds like you’re having a lot of fun making them.

I made my daughter a bracelet with the “What if I fall charm” – loved that saying and still do.

I agree with everything the ladies have said – utterly gorgeous! Among all the great details, I have to say that I’ve never seen a button quite like that before. It alone is a stunner, among many others!

Glad you’re liking these! BTW, the little button you are so fond of happens to be made of wood.
I’ll post the fourth and final bracelet made from this thrift store belt tomorrow. And it too has a button and leather loop closure that I think is perfect for the piece.

Oh, and Annie…I have two daughters and got a little teary when I first read this saying. Our daughters need positive affirmations and encouragement to take risks.

These are so cool. I’ve never painted leather. It looks great! Maybe you should do a tutorial.

Lima designers are the most creative! I absolutely love all of your leather cuffs. Such good ideas and fab use for old belts. I am learning to stamp metal. Your stamping is so good and I love the font. Great work!

Thank you, Donna…I do need to say that these cuffs have purchased bracelet connectors already stamped. I have tried stamping many times and am really bad at it. Best wishes to you though…keep practicing!

These are all very impressive and completely oooohhhh … aaaahhhhh! You have a wonderful eye, and unique style. I love them all!
I’ve also made bracelets with the “What if I fall …” bracelet links. They were for my two best friends. It was the perfect inspiration for their lives … plus I always call them “darling”.

    Love these leather bracelets Lynda!
And stamping takes lots of practice. My handy hubby made me several wooden stamp holders. I have 2-3 I could give away if anyone wants to try them. Just message me through Lima your address & I’ll send. I just ask for reimbursement for the postage. ❤️❤️❤️
