Snowflake

About this design:

I made some smaller snowflakes with LB snowflake frames, wonderful Czech beads and crystals and finished with the finial beads. I also used some crystal bicones and glass teardrop pearls I’ve had squirreled away waiting to be used. I tried different ways to finish the tips: gluing finial beads, trying to create a loop (hard!) and to hang, I tried bead tips glued to one spoke. Seems to work. I went to my neighborhood Hardware Hank and got some 12 lb. fishing line. This is Minnesota after all...:)

Components:

I just love the mercury finish Czech beads and crystal teardrops that LB has. I used the Moon Dust rondelles with Ivory Mercury Finish rounds on one and the Beach Glass English Cut on another.

I love how you made these. They are gorgeous. I just received mine in the mail. I saw some others on the internet that used the clear rubber like earring clutches that replace the butterfly clutches. I hope to get mine made tomorrow and will share them when finished.

Pam, thank you for your nice comments! I too saw some other snowflake videos that used the tiny corrigated earnuts for the endings. But I only used those to stop each spoke while I was designing the snowflake. That way I could add or change a bead then replace the earnut. Those finial beads from LB are really helpful but tricky to glue on. Some of them have holes too small! But most fit. I love Lima Beads’ teardrop crystals! They fit into the small space at the center! Happy snowflake-making!

These are all so great. I especially like the last one. The larger beads you used make such a nice variation.
