Easy Pieces

About this design:

While on the road I quickly made two necklaces and some bracelets to wear to events I was attending. Later in the trip I gave one necklace as a present. A bracelet is set to be given soon.

Components:

The necklaces are both mixed glass beads strung on waxed linen from Lima Beads, in a color to go with the chosen scheme. They both have barrel clasps, attached with knots inside the clasps. The bracelets are all simple glass bead stretch bracelets.

Wow! I could not work while traveling, I would be afraid I’d lose my supplies and spill them everywhere! These are so pretty!

Beauty Sought Khristin–I knew I was going to be travelling so I bought a neat beading board that folds up and closes tight, and I picked out possible beads, clasps, and stringing materials. Two things I forgot that would have helped–scissors and pliers. I had to make do with nail scissors. I packed the supplies in separate plastic zip bags before packing everything in its own separate travel bag, which in this case was one of those reusable shopping bags you can buy for about a dollar. I have lots of them, and find that if I buy them in different patterns, it is easy to remember what is where. For instance, I have one for hot tubbing and swimming that has my swimsuit, flip flops, and a towel (though motels usually have pool towels). I have one for snacks. The one I brought for beading supplies also contained extra zip bags. It got heavier during the trip, as I visited several large bead stores!
