April showers bring lucite flowers

About this design:

I have to be honest- working in the flower beds in my yard is what inspired me. Actually violets are two shades of purple with a yellow centers. I’ve really enjoyed experimenting with alcohol ink

Components:

The violets are clear lucite flowers. The others are frosted white. The other thing I forgot to mention in my last entry was if you make a mistake or don’t like how it turned out, just use the alcohol blending solution and wipe it off. Finish with either a coat of Diamond glaze. I also tried mod lodge super hi-shine clear acrylic sealer. Inks are Tim Holtz Ranger alcohol inks. I’d love to see pics if anyone else does these- share your ideas and suggestions😀

WOW! Such a burst of color! This technique creates such a delightful effect–so many possibilities. I like the idea of creating your own personalized elements to design with rather than purchasing them. Hope to see what you make with all these beauties. :)

wow that piece of art is awesome- the colors are great together. This is really fun and its pretty hard to mess up it up (too many colors too fast and it gets muddy-alcohol blending product and wipe it off with a paper towel). please post what you do so we can all see. I think putting the beads together and making the actual earrings is just as important and probably harder than painting them. Most of the lucite earrings you see are vintage and/or victorian looking. Advice and thoughts are welcome!

What a fun technique! These are like little jewels you can use in your designs. I love how the inks can blend in beautiful unexpected ways on the petals. Thanks for sharing! Now….where did I put my alcohol inks…
