Crazy for ink

About this design:

This lucite beads and ink is very addictive! Is anyone else going to give it a try. I’m so excited to see y’alls ideas! Also, does anyone have any ideas about how to keep the big filigree caps from slipping? I used super new glue.

Components:

I used the gold and silver mixative with the ink colors on these- it gives a whole different look. I love both ways of painting these. The inside of the beads are just as pretty!

Oh my goodness, Robin! These are stunning!!!
I wonder if a tiny bead on top of the cap would work? Then your wired loop you do would push down on that bead keeping the cap in place? For your double bead caps try a seed bead between them to help hold your larger cap in place…(I guess small enough to blend in and not be too noticeable huh?
I’ll ask my daughter. She does so much wire wrapping I bet she’s got ideas too :)

Robin, does alcohol ink stick to metal? I was just thinking I could put some on my “stems” coming out the bottom of my flower, like faded greens or something?

Thx for all the suggestions- I’ll try each. Yes ink colors metal- it takes several layers- but it doesn’t show well on antique brass. I had good success with silver plated, gold plated and bright copper. I didn’t try the mixitive gold and silver with colors on the antique brass, but I bet it would work with several layers.

Robin – maybe a fat little green bead from the 3 – 4point bead flowers? Might look like anither layer of calyx?
I absolutely LOVE your flowers but where to get them? Since LB doesn’t carry! nd have you tried patinas instead of inks at all?

LB has some flowers and leaves under the charm section/ acrylic or lucite. I got most of mine at a local bead store and on Etsy and EBay. I did try Ranger patina and it gives an opaque look. I like the transparency of the ink- it looks like stained glass to me. The earrings I posted were inks with metallic mixative. The first pair remind me of Mardi Gras. It’s been a lot of fun experimenting. Next pair I’ll try the bead – y’all are so creative and I love your input! Thx!
