Chatter

Round and around and around she goes

About this design:

This was my first try at a Cellini stitch. It was easy enough to do but took a ton of time (and beading thread!) The nice thing about this stitch is that if you make a mistake it shows up right away. Well I stopped at choker length.

Components:

Brick Colored Toho beads 11/0, transparent turquoise 11/0 seed beads. 8/0 pink seed beads, and translucent amber beads 11/0, 2 6 mm pink glass rondelles, toggle clasp

WOW! This is a spectacular choker! The pattern looks extremely difficult though. The colors are great and you have done a fantastic job. I think you are right. Choker length was a good place to stop. Can you imagine making one that is opera length? I’d be cross-eyed and crazy before it was finished. Choker length…? Same-same!

Beautiful! The spiral effect is amazing, and you highlighted it well with your color choices. You must have a ton of patience. Those little beads would be flying all over the room with my clumsy hand. When I vacuum, you hear them being sucked up even in the far reaching corners of the room. :)

Thanks for all your sweet comments! CC – My vacuum cleaner makes the same noises! This necklace took about an hour an inch and about 60 feet of thread. It’ll be a while before I do it again.

This is so pretty- I would go cross eyed with all those tiny beads, but so admire those that have the gift of following all the detail in those patterns. Its beautiful!

Thank you Robin. This stitch is not hard but does take some time…..
